  1. Tuning the recorder
  2. Each instrument varies 
  3. slightly in pitch, and for 
  4. group playing close tuning is
  5. desired. To do this have each
  6. person play B. Listen for the
  7. lowest sounding B. This done
  8. each recorder can be lowered
  9. in pitch by twisting it apart
  10. at the top (tuning) joint.
  11. Shorten or lengthen each 
  12. recorder by small amounts,
  13. all are tuned to the lowest B.
